Cold nights are keeping moth numbers very low with 1 Hebrew Character yesterday and 1 Early Grey this morning.

Had the 1st Early Grey of the year this morning plus Clouded Drab, Dotted Border, 4 Hebrew Character and the plume moth Amblyptilia acanthadactyla. Also had the opportunity to photograph an Oak Beauty which was new for me. This one was trapped at Hastings Country Park Nature Reserve last night. Records of regular trapping on this reserve will be posted on the Wild Hastings website:

A frost this morning with a low of 0.5c on the thermometer. However, 2 Moths in the trap: 1 Hebrew Character and the first Twin-spotted Quaker of the year.

Nothing for a week now but had an opportunity to photograph a Pale Pinion trapped by a friend in Fairlight, East Sussex. A new species for me. Hoping for something tonight as it's Garden Moth Survey night.

Nothing in the trap this morning. However, a friend trapped a Spring Usher in Fairlight E.Sussex and I was able to see & photograph this species for the first time. Still hoping to get one myself.
